The candle

What's a LUMINAE candle made of?
100% natural soy wax, a lead-free and zinc-free cotton wick, and phthalate-free fragrance oils. Nothing else. Heavy amber glass jar with a black metal lid.

How long does it burn?
Approximately 50 to 60 hours, when burned correctly.

Which fragrance should I start with?
If you're new to LUMINAE, we recommend the Discovery Trio — Alba (morning), Stone (afternoon), and Hearth (evening). Three candles, three moments, one library.

Care

How do I take care of it?
Trim the wick to ¼ inch before every burn. Let the wax pool reach the edge of the jar on the first burn — about 2 hours — to avoid tunneling. Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time. Stop using the candle when about ½ inch of wax remains.

Why does the candle look uneven after burning?
Soy wax expands and contracts with temperature and is naturally imperfect. Small surface variations are part of how natural wax behaves — they don't affect the burn.

Can I return a candle?
Unburned, unused candles can be returned within 30 days. See our Returns page.

Packaging

Is the packaging recyclable?
Yes. The amber glass jar is reusable and recyclable. The black metal lid is recyclable. Our shipping boxes are 100% recycled cardboard.

Can the jar be reused after the candle is finished?
Absolutely. Pour boiling water over the remaining wax, let it cool, and lift the wax disc out. The jar makes a good vessel for matches, small plants, or your second drink.
